Ten Thoughts Tuesday – Jan 8

Ten Thoughts Tuesday

Sarah, at Journey2dFuture started a TTT challenge last week and I’m happy to be doing it as well. :D You just post ten thoughts you’re having every Tuesday. I like it because I can “empty my head”. ;) If you want to join in, please visit her blog and let her know so she can read your ten thoughts too!

Here are my ten for today:

  1. Samuel is 16 months old today!
  2. I’m making a mandarin orange cake this afternoon (totally unrelated to Sam being 16 months old – haha).
  3. Regretting watching the Bachelor last night…well, it was on as I was on the computer. Pleeeeaaaase don’t get sucked in this season, Valerie!! RESIST!
  4. The verse on our desk calendar today is “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Romans 8:26
  5. Making a  new slow cooker recipe tonight that I saw on muffinsandmocha! Can’t wait. :)
  6. I’ve got to do something about nights and nursing and Samuel’s feet in my face. :|
  7. My husband is on board and says he is willing to put up with some complaining while I teach Samuel to sleep in his own bed (apparently he’s had feet in his face too).
  8. New veggie burgers for lunch this week! Found them at Publix and was thrilled to see VEGGIES as the main ingredient instead of soy protein!
  9. I’m hungry. Is 11:35 too early for lunch?
  10. I like how my fitness minutes updater looks in my sidebar. :D Maggie helped me make it yesterday.

I hope you’re all having a wonderful day!

It is never too early for lunch. Unless you haven’t had breakfast yet of course….

  3. 11:35am is lunch time here. lol and then again at 2pm. :p My excuse – I’m breastfeeding.
Oh oh I like your workout widget, How did you make it? My Daily miles isn’t showing up how I’d like it to.

    • Valerie says:

Oh yeah, I can still use the b/f’ing excuse too ;) , but more often than not it’s the physical activity I’ve gotten that makes me hungrier! It was weird – I had eaten breakfast at 8am and then a snack at 10:30. I really shouldn’t have been hungry until noon (which is my usual lunchtime). Ha
For the widget, I found a pic (clouds) on bing/images.com and then made it small (219 x165) and then went to Pixlr.com/express and added text. We saved two copies; one without numbers so I can use it weekly and one with this week’s numbers so I could upload into my media library. Was that a good explanation? lol

    We had the same thought
    “I’m hungry”
    Except mine was after lunch

    • Valerie says:

Haha, what’d you have for lunch? Not enough protein, maybe? :|

      • deepsspace says:

No meat so not much protein. I had something called Papdi Chaat. It’s an Indian dish. It’s basically baked flour pieces in yogurt with chick peas, onions and some spices/seasoning. It’s pretty good but not too filling (then again, I believe it’s supposed to be a snack, not a meal)

  5. Maya says:

How did the crock pot meal turn out? It looks very similar to my taco soup recipe that uses ground beef instead of the chicken thighs I’ll have to try it when I’m not doing my 30 day vegan challenge, ha! What brand veggie burgers is your publix now carrying? I’d love to try it, if it’s worth it. :) I enjoyed your thoughts today!

    • Valerie says:

It was good! We enjoyed it with cornbread muffins. I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts instead of thigh meat and reduced the cooking to 4 hours on low. :) The veggie burgers are by Franklin Farms. I really like them!

  6. Joyce says:

How’d your slow-cooker recipe turn out? I need some new ideas!

  7. multimummy says:

    11.30 is lunchtime here!

I'd love to hear your thoughts...
