Blog Party ~ Simple and Sweet Desserts
March 18, 2013 55 Comments
Welcome! I’m so glad you’ve stopped by today because we are having a party…and not just any party – a Simple & Sweet Desserts party!
So please pour yourself some tea (or coffee!) and enjoy all the lovely desserts.
♥ ♥ ♥
First we have Ashley’s Classic Anisette Cookies. They’re just adorable and look so tasty!
She shares, “These Classic Italian Anisette Cookies are incredibly easy to bake. They have a sugary glaze complemented by pastel sprinkles, making them the perfect spring dessert!”
♥ ♥ ♥
Next, we have Amanda’s Oreo Pudding Cake. What a treat!
“This is a recipe that I threw together after viewing a similar dish on Pinterest. It was one of those moments when I was browsing around, I meant to pin it, got distracted by babies and promptly forgot all about it. I had the basic idea, so I threw together the ingredients and came out with a really yummy cake. We took this to a recent pot luck lunch at our church and it was a big hit.”
♥ ♥ ♥
“Here’s our favorite dessert to make from scratch – you can actually make it in the microwave and it’s quick andkid-friendly (just don’t ask the kids to describe the final outcome….see the blog – haha)”
♥ ♥ ♥
I decided to bring my Peanut Butter Cookies.
These are soft and kinda-sorta light (though you *can* use butter if you so desire), and delicious!
“Waffles… Those tasty little heart shaped treats. A huge favourite with most Norwegians, us lot included. Especiallywhen enjoyed on the beach in your swimsuits, with sandy hands and sticky jam. Oh, year-round-warm-sunny-weather of Dubai, how we heart you.”
♥ ♥ ♥
Renee brings a wonderful Easy Vegan Pudding . I definitely plan to try this!
“It really is amazing.. I could just imagine someone throwing this together when a child with allergies or vegan comes to a birthday party or something… I mean one great thing about vegan food is that it is good for kids with dairy allergies and egg allergies, right?”
Anastasiya displays her tempting Coconut Macaroons. I am a big fan of coconut, and these are calling my name!
“…they do not have any dairy. Just coconut, eggs, and sugar. Yes I made them with white sugar. These sweet innocent cookies have white death in them. But they taste so delicious and me not eating dairy I thought I could handle a little of the poison.”
Sarah shares some healthy and scrumptious chocolate Brownies!
“I love to bake and I love chocolate. But I am really trying to present better food (and desserts!) to my family.”
Next, we have Anna’s Chocolate Tofu Mousse. Such a healthy and sweet treat!
“We make this all the time. It may be a contributing factor to the ongoing happiness of our marriage.” *grin*
♥ ♥ ♥
“I recently made these for a birthday party! They are so simple to make and take your classic rice krispie treat tothe next level. They are perfect to take to a party and impress your friends.”
Monica has brought her absolute favorite dessert, a Sour Cream Spice Cake. It sounds wonderful!
“This also works great as a bunt cake. This recipe was taken from a Betty Crocker’s cook book.”
♥ ♥ ♥
“This tangy fruit salad was a wonderful dessert the other night. The sweetness of the fruit combined with the tang of the fruit dip provides a complex enough flavor to just say, delicious!”
“These cupcakes are the perfect fix for any sweet tooth. They have a refreshing lime cake with a graham cracker frosting to resemble all the satisfaction of a key lime pie in cupcake form.”
She says, “This is one of my favorite desserts, I first tasted it while attending Clearwater Christian College and it took me FOREVER to find the recipe! But it left such an impression that I searched forever for it.”![]()
♥ ♥ ♥
She says, “I know that a cake made 100% from scratch doesn’t really fall under the “easy” category, but the frosting does! The fudgy frosting is made in the microwave with only 3 ingredients. It’s hard to get better than that!”
She says, “Garnish with dried nuts or any fruit of your choice. I also sprinkled a little bit of desiccated coconut.”

I can almost feel my teeth disappearing — that’s always a good sign, of course.
Haha, why thank you! My dentist would be so proud.

Me too!!!
Great party Valerie! I’m drooling over all the amazing desserts

)

Oh my word…They all look so good! Sorry I missed the party
Thanks, Joyce! Maybe next time!
I WOULD LOVE to have High Tea with you!!! ANY DAY!!!
Shall we meet halfway?
Perhaps Kentucky??
Sounds like DURBY TIME!!! Maybe hats and juleps?
haha!
What an awesome party!! I’m glad i came. It’s 10.17pm in Singapore and you’ve got me craving for something sweet now! What am I to do?? *cues dramatic music* haha ok I’m obviously on a sugar high. Thanks for hosting another great party!
Haha, thanks, Zee! Hope the cravings pass and you can get to bed.
I am trying to decide which one to make first!
Thanks for putting this together! Awesommmmmmmmm
My pleasure! <3
Oh my goodness! All these desserts look fabulous!
I can’t wait to try these recipes – thanks for sharing ladies, and thanks to Valerie for hosting!
I can’t wait to try them either!
Thanks, Amanda.
This post just made my sweet tooth kick in!! I can’t wait for Easter when my aunt makes her anis biscuits!
Oh, I know! They have me craving treats! What are her biscuits like?
Just like the first receipe in the post. They are like an egg biscuit, but with anisette flavoring. Loved them since I was a kid.
Oh, how yummy!
Wow what great recipes everyone brought to the blogging party! Absolutely love that you do these! Can’t wait to try out some of these once I make a grocery store run.
I’m going to be trying them soon too! Thanks for coming, Christine.
I was just saying to Martin earlier that we should stop buying sweet treats and make them ourselves if we want them. It makes them less accessible but more rewarding
So…tasty….My word I want something sweet now!
Yes, it seems to be starting some cravings and hunger issues among visitors today!
Thanks for featuring my recipe! Can’t wait to try the others!
It was my pleasure! I hope you contribute to the next one too.
I need to stop visiting your page when I’m hungry!
LOL, very wise indeed!
What a lovely display of scrumptiousness! — and not least what a good idea with a party blog!! LOVE IT!
Thank you, ladies! Yours was a wonderful addition to the party. <3
I absolutely *LOVE* this!
Thank you for sweetening up my Monday! =0)
Thank you! =) I’m glad you enjoyed it. I can’t wait to try them!
It all looks so yummy! I think I might just join in the next time round. With a really simple no-bake cheesecake
Thanks! =) Oh, yes please do join in next time (though the theme will be different). I may do another desserts one in the future, though, because we all love them so much!
Yes, will see if I can participate in the next party. The recipes shared this time look really yummy, and I will probably try the cake in a cup. Thanks for hosting!
It was my pleasure.
Be sure to let Courtney know if you like her recipe!
Time for some weight gain??
Haha, I hope not! All in moderation (or so we say
)
So much yumminess, all in one place!
Haha, exactly! Now to choose which to make first…
Cake in a cup – I love it! Less dishes to wash!
Exactly!
How did I miss this?! Oh well, I’m glad I found all these recipes. Now I’m hungry….
Haha! Yes, these party posts are known for causing hunger and cravings.
